GitLab 18.0.1 Patch Release Now Available

GitLab has announced the availability of version 18.0.1, the first patch release following the major 18.0 update. This latest version addresses several key issues to improve overall stability and user experience.

Among the most notable fixes is a resolution for compatibility problems with Elasticsearch indexing when upgrading from GitLab 17.11 to 18.0. Users experiencing issues with search indexing should find this patch particularly valuable. Additionally, a bug in the CI pipeline email notification system that prevented messages from being sent correctly has been resolved.

Users will also benefit from improvements to runner registration and performance metrics, as the update rectifies insecure defaults and fixes data display issues that affected Prometheus monitoring graphs.

As always, GitLab strongly advises all users running 18.0.0 to upgrade to 18.0.1 at their earliest convenience to take advantage of the stability enhancements and bug fixes.

Organisations in Czechia, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, North Macedonia and the United Kingdom, as well as remote teams based in Israel, South Africa, and Paraguay looking to professionally manage their GitLab lifecycle can get in touch with IDEA GitLab Solutions – an official GitLab Select Partner – for expert consulting, support, and licensing services.
